HAVE THEY GONE MAD?

No they are just trying to scaremonger others into submission.

The talk as of recent is about the newly "declared " EEZ between Turkey and Libya.
This unilateral declaration is ill-conceived unemployable as it is internationally unacceptable. The Turks refuse Greece's right to an EEZ with the only reasoning that: Islands have NO continental shelf. They used this false argument to make  their deal with Libya. Of course we all know what a divided country Libya is after the fall of Kaddafi.
In fact it makes me think...
Is this part of the grand plan of the Imperialist world forces in order to get their hands on cheap energy resources?
As we know ALL NON ALLIED NATIONS have suffered either for their resources or their political standings or both.
Malta: See what happened to Mintoff.
Yugoslavia: Destroyed with war  by Imperialism.
Libya: Destroyed with war  by Imperialism.
Iraq: Destroyed with war  by Imperialism.
Syria: Destroyed with war by Imperialism.
Cyprus: Destroyed with war by Imperialism.
Greece: Destroyed with economic war by Imperialism and recently threat of War by the expansionist actions of Turkey.
 
Turkey without subscribing to international Law threatens the very survival of what should be one of their allies.
So is Turkey right? should islands not be included in the creation of an EEZ? have they no continental shelf?

Under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, "the name continental shelf was given a legal definition as the stretch of the seabed adjacent to the shores of a particular country to which it belongs."

Islands  

"Islands are naturally formed land areas surrounded by water on all sides. Islands do not need to be inhabited to create those maritime zones; they only need to be capable of sustaining human habitation or economic life. Rocks

"A rock in the LOSC is defined as an island that is unable to support human habitation or economic life. Rocks provide their owners with less control than islands, providing only a territorial sea and a contiguous zone. They do not create or further the extent of an EEZ. Rock is a legal term and does not refer to any particular type of geological formation. For example, a sandbar can be considered a rock."

Of course EEZ' can only be agreed between partners, but these are the internationally accepted proposed parameters set by all International bodies.

Turkey has not signed the UNCLOS agreement so how is it that uses the EEZ code to promote its Illegal claims?
Of course this is a rhetorical question as we all know Turkey acts CRAZY!

HAS ANYTHING REALLY CHANGED?

Has anything really changed?

That's what we ask ourselves. Is the Left changing the Country or is the Country changing the Left?

We all tell stories to prove one or the other. Some stories, however, are more blatant than others.
Take for example the case of  Mr. Gavroglou Minister for Education Research and Religion and his decision to name the primary school of New Kios,near Nafplion, after Apostolos Pezas, a renowned collaborator of the NAZI occupational force in Greece and creator of the arrest and execution of striking workers in his Lignite factory (coal mine) of Kalogreza. This is known as

Ακούστηκαν κάποιες κραυγές για την αντικατάσταση του σταυρού στην ελληνική σημαία.

Δεν είμαι θρησκευόμενος... Αλλά υπάρχουν ορισμένοι λόγοι για τους οποίους ο σταυρός πρέπει να μείνει στην σημαία.

1. Πρέπει να καταλάβουμε όλοι, ιδίως οι ψευτοκομμουνιστές του ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, ότι η κύρια αντίθεση στην πασκόσμια κοινωνία
του σήμερα είναι η αντίπαράθεση μεταξύ των Ισλαμιστών και όλων των άλλων. Ετσι δεν είναι δυνατόν να υποχωρείς
την κουλτουρα σου απέναντι στους αντιπάλους γιατί στο τέλος θα εξαφανιστείς.

2. Ο χριστιανισμός, αποτελεί επέκταση του αρχαίου ελληνικού πνεύματος, Παναγία=Αθηνά, Χριστός=Σωκράτης και
Διογένης . Η στήλη ΤΩ ΑΓΝΩΣΤΩ ΘΕΩ κλπ.

3. Ο Χριστιανισμός είναι μέρος της πολιτιστικής κουλτούρας των Ελλήνων και πολλές παραδόσεις είναι βαθειά ριζωμένες
στην ζωή του ελληνικού λαού.

Ως εκ τούτων αυτοί που υποστηρίζουν την αποκαθήλωση είναι ΑΝΘΕΛΛΗΝΕΣ.
Προσωπικά, πιστεύω ότι ο σταυρός πρέπει να μείνει γιατί δείχνει την διαχρονική πορεία του Ελληνισμού.

I'm not a religious ... But there are some reasons why the 

cross must be on the flag.

1. We all need to understand, in particular 

the pseudo-communists of SYRIZA , that the main opposition 

to the passive society

of today is the opposition between Islamists and all others. So it is not possible to retreat your culture against these opponents because in the end you will disappear.

2. Christianity is an extension of the ancient 

Greek spirit, Holy Mother = Athena, Christ = Socrates and

 Diogenes. The styli “TO THE UNKNOWN GOD”.

3. Christianity is part of the culture of the Greeks and 

many Christian  traditions are deeply rooted in the life 

of the Greek people.

Therefore, those who support the dissolution are 

ANTHELLINES.

Personally, I believe that the cross must remain because 

it shows the timeless course of Hellenism.

And… Athena’s face can even be added to the centre 

of the Cross.

Did the Ancient Greeks eat wheat?

Dedicated to those who believe that the Ancients did not know the existence of wheat.

The following excerpt from Wiki shows that these non believers know diddly squat.

Cultivation of wheat began to spread beyond the Fertile Crescent after about 8000 BCE. Jared Diamond traces the spread of cultivated emmer wheat starting in the Fertile Crescent sometime before 8800 BCE. Archaeological analysis of wild emmer indicates that it was first cultivated in the southern Levant, with finds dating back as far as 9600 BCE.[16][17] Genetic analysis of wild einkorn wheat suggests that it was first grown in the Karacadag Mountains in southeastern Turkey. Dated archeological remains of einkorn wheat in settlement sites near this region, including those at Abu Hureyra in Syria, suggest the domestication of einkorn near the Karacadag Mountain Range.[18] With the anomalous exception of two grains from Iraq ed-Dubb, the earliest carbon-14 date for einkorn wheat remains at Abu Hureyra is 7800 to 7500 years BCE.[19]
Remains of harvested emmer from several sites near the Karacadag Range have been dated to between 8600 (at Cayonu) and 8400 BCE (Abu Hureyra), that is, in the Neolithic period. With the exception of Iraq ed-Dubb, the earliest carbon-14 dated remains of domesticated emmer wheat were found in the earliest levels of Tell Aswad, in the Damascus basin, near Mount Hermon in Syria. These remains were dated by Willem van Zeist and his assistant Johanna Bakker-Heeres to 8800 BCE. They also concluded that the settlers of Tell Aswad did not develop this form of emmer themselves, but brought the domesticated grains with them from an as yet unidentified location elsewhere.[20]

 
The cultivation of emmer reached Greece, Cyprus and India by 6500 BCE, Egypt shortly after 6000 BCE, and Germany and Spain by 5000 BCE.[21]

" [22] By 3000 BCE, wheat had reached the British Isles and Scandinavia. A millennium later it reached China.

Of course this is not the only source of information about the use of wheat and yeast in Ancient lands.
My friend, just open ANY book ANY website and you shall see a wondrous world of bread making from wheat AND yeast in the ancient world.

ANCIENT GREEK LITERATURE - IS IT REALLY GREEK?

There are those among us, even Greeks, who deny that any of what we call Ancient Greek Thought is actually a real product of the intellect of the ancients.

Indeed some think that there is no actual proof of the existence of the works of the Ancients as there has been nothing saved from the classical era.
Is this true? well, there is the wealth of ancient inscriptions on tombstones and pottery but this is not really evidence of the ancient spirit; right? We haven't anything more substantial surviving  like Homer's works do we?
ACTUALLY... WE DO! WE HAVE  THE "EGYPTIAN PAPYRI".
These papyri were found in the sands of Egypt dating from the Hellenised Ptolemaic times of the Egyptian Kingdoms.

According to the British Library, proof of ancient Greek writings come comes mainly from two sources:

A. Papyri from Egypt

Papyri from Egypt come mostly from the towns of the southern Nile valley.

Many others were found in the lower Nile area of Egypt.

 B. Byzantine manuscripts

 

One such proof of, shall we say, authenticity is SOUDA , an encyclopaedia which was written around the 10th century AD.

It is one of the most important and valuable works for Greek literature history and Grammar and is attributed to a scholar called Soudas although the name could possibly have been derived from the word Souda for fortress.

The encyclopaedia uses sources from ancient times such as the orator and author Arpokration from Alexandria who lived in 2nd century BC.
It gives partial documentation and examination of works of many Classics.

Όπως είχε ανακοινωθεί στη συγκεκριμένη ομιλία θα υπήρχε ελεύθερη είσοδος, ωστόσο τα πράγματα εξελίχθηκαν τελείως διαφορετικά. Απαγορεύθηκε η είσοδος σε Έλληνες πολίτες, πολλοί από τους οποίους μάλιστα προσήχθησαν στα αστυνομικά τμήματα για εξακρίβωση των στοιχείων τους, ενώ είχαν μαζί τους τις αστυνομικές ταυτότητες τις οποίες άλλωστε επέδειξαν στους αστυνομικούς.

Έχει την αξία της η μαρτυρία ενός φίλου μου: «Μόλις εισήλθα στον προαύλιο χώρο του Παλέ ντε Σπορ με περικύκλωσαν πέντε αστυνομικοί της ασφαλείας. Ο ένας από αυτούς μου ζήτησε την ταυτότητα και αφού του την παρέδωσα με οδήγησε σε κάτι αστυνομικούς των ΟΠΚΕ. Ταυτόχρονα, με την ίδια διαδικασία συλλαμβάναν και άλλους πολίτες που βρίσκονταν σε εκείνο τον χώρο.

Μας επιβίβασαν όλους μαζί σε κλούβες της αστυνομίας και μας μετέφεραν στην αστυνομική διεύθυνση. Εκεί μας υπέβαλαν σε σωματική έρευνα αφού πρώτα κατεβάσαμε ένας-ένας το παντελόνι μας μέχρι τα γόνατα, πήραν τα προσωπικά μας αντικείμενα και τα έβαλαν σε μία σακούλα και στη συνέχεια μας οδήγησαν σε μία επιτροπή η οποία μας ρώτησε τα στοιχεία μας (επίθετο, όνομα, σταθερό και κινητό τηλέφωνο, διεύθυνση κατοικίας). Αφού υπογράψαμε το έγγραφο με τα στοιχεία μας και περιμέναμε ακόμα 1.5 ώρα, μας άφησαν να φύγουμε»...

"...On December 14, SYRIZA organized a speech at the Palace of Sports in Thessaloniki with Prime Minister Speaker. The subject of the speech was "Yes in Macedonia of the Republic and Solidarity. Not hate and nationalism. "

As announced in this speech, there would be free admission, but things turned out to be completely different. It was forbidden to enter Greek citizens, many of whom were even brought to the police stations to check their details, and they had with them the police IDs they showed to police officers.
My friend's testimony is worthwhile: "As soon as I entered the courtyard of the Palace of Sports, I surrounded five security police. One of them asked for my identity, and after I handed it to him, he led me to some police officers from the OSCE. At the same time, in the same process, other citizens who were in that area were captured.They all took us together in police clutches and took us to the police station. In the land that gave birth to Democracy inhabitants spend endless hours contemplating who is really responsible for the plight of their country.
The country, some will tell you, has come to a stand still, production is at a minimum and moral is at an all time low.
And yet there is something happening, some wheels ARE turning and despite everything, Greece is the number 49 economy in the world according to GDP (PPP) per capita.

So what keeps Greece afloat?

well, a sector of the Greek economy is indeed going full ahead with production and export of goods which are in demand worldwide and here are a few.

• the rising stars  Yogurt, Monkey nuts (187%), smoked fish (192%), meat (243%), electricity meters (190%), elevators (130%) and ice cream (131% of increase).

The BIG question, of course, is whether Greece can sustain the levels of production, quality and supply in order to satisfy emerging markets. Sustainability of all these factors has been a problem of Greek producers since time immemorial so...

 the future will show.

Κατά την διάρκεια της αιχμαλωσίας των δύο Ελλήνων στρατιωτών ένα παράξενο συμβάν έλαβε χώρα που απέδειξε τα προβλήματα μεταξύ των δύο χωρών.

Απουσίασαν και οι 10 Μουσουλμάνοι Περιφερειακοί Σύμβουλοι της Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας και Θράκης, από την συνεδρίαση του Περιφερειακού Συμβουλίου, όπου πρώτο θέμα συζητήθηκε για να εγκριθεί ψήφισμα υπέρ των δύο Ελλήνων στρατιωτικών, που κρατούντο αιχμάλωτοι από τους Τούρκους  στις φυλακές της Αδριανούπολης.
Αυτοί ήταν Ελληνες πολίτες εκλεγμένοι στην Περιφέρεια Ανατολικής Μακεδονίας και Θράκης.
Αν αυτό γινόταν στην Τουρκία θα υπηρχαν θύματα.

Οχι παίζουμε.

During the hostage taking of the two Greek soldiers by Turkey a strange event took place that proved the problems between the two countries.

All ten Muslim Regional officers in East Macedonia and Thrace were absent from the committee meeting of the Regional Office, where the first matter of discussion was the issue of of a resolution on the two Greek soldiers, who were kept hostage by Turkey.
These  counselors were elected Greek citizens!
If this had happened in Turkey there would be victimizations.

The Philos Project is said to be a Christian Anti-Iran Group, by Eli Clifton editor to RIGHT WEB , an organisation which monitors other organisations and individuals that promote militarist U.S. policies.

The Right Web, in turn was taken over in 2010 by the "Institute for Policy Studies" a highly influential think tank that "that consistently supported policies that facilitated the foreign policy goals of the Soviet Union and weakened the position of the United States" (KeyWiki).

She has recently written about Turkish activities in The Aegean and its policies towards Greece. Her article is worth reading. It is entitled

• With the illegal seizures and occupation of northern Cyprus in 1974 and the Syrian city of Afrin this March -- with virtually no global reaction -- Turkey apparently feels unchallenged and eager to continue; this time, it seems, with the oil-and-gas rich islands of Greece.
• "To take an interest in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Crimea, Karabakh, Bosnia and other brotherly regions is both the duty and the right of Turkey. Turkey is not just Turkey. • Turkish needs are in reality supplied by its association with the US. Turkish officials usually get whatever they want from the West, but they seem to have chosen to align themselves with Iran and Russia, possibly in attempt to blackmail the West for more.
